Building work to church premises: Some legal and regulatory issues
Church Growth Trust have partnered with Stewardship to produce a joint briefing paper addressing some of the legal and regulatory issues involved in church building work.
Any individual responsible for overseeing the logistics of a church will be required at some stage to make arrangements for building work such as the replacement of a handful of slipped slates or the erection of a new building.
Some church organisations will be able to consult construction professionals for basic advice and to avoid legal pitfalls. For others, they can refer to this paper as a guide to some of the legal and regulatory issues surrounding construction work today.
Topics covered:
Planning permission
Building regulations approval
The Party Wall etc. Act 1996
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994
