Lois and Dan chat about the importance of Young Adult ministry within the Church.
Here are some key things to think about:
Start with intentionality
- Knowing that there are lot of young people/ young professionals that want to connect.
- You will find that your 18-30's are all at different stages along their journey from first years, to post grads to young professionals
- Most Young Adults are looking for Leaders with integrity and authenticity.
Partner with your church
- Host Young Adult evening services
- Being consistent enables community to be built together
- Encourage your Young Adults to get involved within the wider church, whether it be morning services, evening services or even mid week.
- Having space for them to gather in a smaller context to a Sunday enables more in depth conversations and being able to read the bible together, expanding on what was shared on a Sunday, giving space to ask the questions of 'how does this look in our context and relate to our lives'.
- Don't discount the older generation to come alongside your Young Adults. There is something that can come from that older generation that is inspiring for this generation.
Have socials and trips out
- Enabling relationships to be built
- Food is always a good way to bring together Young Adults
Pray for your Young Adults
- Give them good foundations for them stepping into their adult journey.
- Create a Space they can call home.
